The songwriting on the “Broken Wings” record addresses my walk through some of life’s most difficult trials: Race, Religion, War, Family, the Homeless, the Impaired, Death and Self. After listening, I hope you understand that for me, the jury came back with one verdict for all, ‘acceptance.’
I have been writing songs for many years. It is not a money making endeavor, I write most of my songs to try to heal myself and hopefully others may relate to the lyrics and reflect on their own life. If for any reason Richard’s Song, Brave, March of the Infant Soldiers or Born Black or White generate any financial profit for me, the money will be donated to charities associated with those songs.
Six of the songs on “Broken Wings” were co-written by my friend Gary Gallant who lives in Lebanon, TN. Gary is a prolific writer and poet, and I am indebted to him.
